Kyocera already offers a number of rugged waterproof phones, but its new Hydro Life may be the most durable yet. The device was confirmed today and it’s headed to T-Mobile and MetroPCS starting at just $124.99.
The Hydro Life is waterproof and meets the military standard for drop and shock protection. With IP57 certification, the device should have no trouble in up to three feet of water for as long as 30 minutes. The design also includes reinforced housing and a grippy coating so it won’t slip out of your hands.
As for its specs, Kyocera’s new phone offers a 4.5-inch IPS display that’s impact resistance along with a 2000mAh battery, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, a 5-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter and 4G LTE capability. The Hydro Life runs an unspecified version of Android with extra software on top to help save battery life.
The Hydro Life will be available on T-Mobile starting on Aug. 8 for just $124.99, though you’ll have to buy the device from Walmart. Kyocera’s new handset is also headed toMetroPCS, though not until Aug. 29.
